eggman I love your setup, and if I had the cash at the time I would have probably done the same thing. As it was, I couldn't afford the two resonators and that muffler so I had to go with what I did.

FYI for the OP, my main exhaust components are:

$84 - Dynomax (24222) 12" long case, 3" ID resonators ($42 each x 2)
$47 - Dynomax (24219) 18" long case, 3" ID resonator
$87 - MagnaFlow (12259) 18" long case, 3" ID, single offset muffler

I could have probably avoided the three resonators and just bought a Dynomax VT muffler and ended up with a quieter, cheaper, lighter exhaust with the same flow potential.

Keep in mind this is a turbo car, and not a VE head. Turbos quiet things down quite a bit on their own.

Whoops, forgot to mention it's an NX.

Also, it will eventually be a VE-T, but till then I'll use an SSAC header.
Thanks guys!

How they fit will change, but the parts used will probably not. You will need gaskets, hangers, oxygen sensors, etc...

eggman has an NX so his can be completely copied 100% and still work. Ben has a B13 and his system sounds nice as well. My thread is more thorough and covers every single aspect of an exhaust install (that I thought of at least).

I am waiting for them to build a Dynomax VT thats round... to use as a resonator , so I can have any rear muffler I want and still get quiet idle and cruise !!

My 2.5" no cat track car has a greddy resonator and a long magnaflow resonator , through an Apexi WS 2 muffler ... and its still way loud ....!!!

Just get the 3" that you wanted and throw an sti muffler on it, if it fits under an nx lol, if not id get a 3"downpipe with an electric cutout and keep the stock exhaust after that.

if you plan on boosting it soon do yourself a favor and get a cutout. Even if you don't keep the exhaust quiet, i wouldn't worry about having a 3" exhaust. I would go 2.5" with a quiet muffler and then when you boost it get a 3" dp and cutout. I absolutely love this setup and I recommend cutouts for anyone with a turbo car. It truly is the best of both worlds as you can have it bone stock quiet, yet w/ the cutout open it will have far less backpressure than any full 3" exhaust.
