Whats this for?????
I was working on the car today and installed a new cap and rotor. While in the process I noticed a terminal by the distrbutor that has nothing hooked up to it?? Anyone have any idea what this is for and if it even needs to be used?? Sorry if this is a common sense thing, still trying to learn the ins and outs of this motor.

In this pic its at about 1 o'clock on top of the distributor:

Thanks guys, pretty much would be lost sometimes without all your help!!

It's just there... I don't have anything hooked up to it and I don't see others having things hooked up to it either.. Possibly it's just a ground like bluerb240 said. I would maybe try hooking it up to the intake mani ground?

Yah it's meant for a ground wire. I don't know which one though and I wouldn't be worried at all. Not many of us have that hooked up. I'd actually remove it.

I dunno, maybe it is for watching the spark with a special moving camera...

On the intake there is a similar tubing thingy and it sure isn't meant for grouding...

Richard I think you're looking at the wrong thing in the picture. He's talking about the male electrical spade connector currently not attached to anything.
