i would say look for a short in the steering collum somewhere or in the fuse box in that general area. also check the fuses especially the big ones. u might have an ignition fuse blown or something....thats my 2 cents

I'll check the fuses but last time I checked them a week or so ago all of them were good.

make sure u connected the positive cable to the solenoid on the starter and the ground too....i ran into the same thing before. i forgot to connect the power to the solenoid and i was stranded for like a week....if not then look for a short in the colum

jumper cable idea didn't work. all fuses are good. both wires are hooked up to the starter.

can u push start it. if u can push start, start it up and turn the key and see if the starter grinds against the flywheel. if it doesnt then it might be the ignition switch/lock cylinder itself. thats all i can think of

If you cant hotwire the starter and get it to work, all the other ignition and clutch switches don't mean shit, check your positive wire comeing from the positive battery cable to the starter itself, you can try the jumper cables right to the starter postive side, but put it on the starter first then the battery terminal

P.S. Don't use the junk jumper cables. Also since its a 93, does it have cruise control? Make sure you're not jumpering the wrong switch on the clutch pedal.

I haven't tried push starting it. not sure when i'll be able to do that since we got a few inches of snow on the ground right now. I replaced the ignition switch so i'm pretty sure thats not it.

which one should i be jumpering? the one the pedal is pushing when the clutch is all the way up ot the one that is depressed when the clutch is all the way down?

The one closest to the firewall, that's pressed when the pedal is all the way down. Did the rest of my previous post make sense?

yeah, it makes sense. I'm going to check the starter cable next. Well, probably when there isn't 6"+ of snow on the ground. Any idea what gauge that is? I know I have some 4 gauge wire in the shed if i absolutely need to replace it.
