GROUNDS, 9 times of out 10 this is a ground cable issue. Clean up or add additional ground points from the block to chassis to neg. battery terminal.

I have this exact issue with my nx, every once in a while it will crank right up, it seems like it has to do with the clutch pedal switch

check the switch, make sure the rubber plug hasn't fell out or gone bad,,

I'm betting either grounds or clutch pedal switch as well.

mine seems to have something really wrong with the switch, sometimes in cranks up without even pushing the button, other times it wont start when I am pushing it

I did this, turns out the good starter wasn't the one that I needed to my car. I could hear the gears spinning against one another rapidly. Did you start with a Mitsubishi starter and go to a Hitachi, or vice versa? They SAY there is no difference, but I've seen/experienced otherwise.

I would change the switch all together, replace the little rubber piece as well..

if your having intermittent problems it might be a voltage loss between to starter and battery or maybe the solenoid has issues

I think I started with the Hitachi and now run the Mitsubishi. Or whichever it is that doesn't have the gear whine associated with it. I had no problem switching between the two, even though they looked SO different. This is both on a '91 B13 trans and a B15 trans.

I bypassed the clutch pedal switch and have already checked all my grounds. They are all good. Anything else it could be?

solenoid,, next time you try to start the car and it won't start,, take a long bar such as a breaker bar or long stick and tap on the starter..

2.0 hype just bought his first Nx and he's had a heck of a time with it starting,, we replaced the rubber plug and switch, nice connections and still wouldn't start,, tapped the starter a few times and it started right up..

started 3-4 times in a row during the next few hours and then it did the same thing, No start, No noise, nothing.. tap tap ,, started up right away..

this Nx has been sitting for awhile and the only thing I can figure out is the corrosion and condensation is messing with the solenoid.. now for the last 5 days it has been starting up just fine....

good luck,, everything that could ever happen to our cars to not start, run,go go go has already happened to me a few times,, now it's just a matter of fixing it when it goes down and I've already had to do it once so it's no big deal to me.. I just hate to work on it when the weather is like crap..
