our cars values?
idk but i just feel like ranting on. ive been trolling around a few forums and craigslist and i always see these wack hondas with basic mods going for like 4-5k. why is it that our cars with turbo's and jdm engines cant ever get that much? is it because of suppy and demand or the popularity of the cars or something? ive thought a couple times about selling my car but from what ive seen my car wont go for anything past 3k, even with all the stuff on it but yet these s13 with a basic sr20det install are going for 5k all day long. any ideas guys? or is it just that these cars are worth alot more to guys like us and not the major tuning population? to me i see a whole lot of performance potential in them. why were they not pickd up so much like hondas.

Nissan's aren't quite as popular. Bunch of reasons. When you buy a Honda, you get a whole bunch of aftermarket support with them now a days. That's the reason they are STILL more popular and more valuable in my eyes. I wouldn't pay $4k for a B14 with a JDM DE/Suspension, but I would more likely consider(if I was into them), an EK hatch with a JDM motor/Suspension. idkkkkk

a buddy of mine bought an eg hatch with a single came in it. he traded some dude for a b16 swap, engine for engine, then got the car painted, gsr leather interior, some weak dr20s and ebay fogs ect, and sold the car for 5500. made like a 2k profit.. and he got so many hits that he chose the guy he wanted to sell it to. idk man im just sour about it.

I agree .....cars like Cliffs old one should have fetched like 10K and even at that it is a bargin ....I cant belive what I see some of these cars go for these days , heck if Strattons car was a CRX it would have been gone the first week it was for sale , but because it is a Nissan it will be for sale forever , or intill he gives it away at some retarded price ...

Its crazy, when I had my 240sx I sold it for 3k and it was completly stock and a base model, I couldn't get 3k for my ser with full boltons. I guess its whateveryone is into. But I'm fine with that, spend 2k on a car dump another 2k and it still be worth 2k. As we all know our cars aren't money catchers or gold mines. It is what it is....

Theres a lot of dumb people that buy hondas. Not saying that honda owners are dumb and im not saying that nissan owners are smart, but to me, it seems like every kid in high school wants a honda for their first car. Being that they are young, they are still "wet behind the ears" so to speak and dont realize theyre paying way too much money for a 20 year old economy car.

Im still a young guy too, Ive only been out of high school for 2 1/2 years so I know plenty of younger kids who fit the description above. Its almost like when everyone wore air force 1 nikes in middle school, sure your paying a lot of mone for sneakers made in china, but since theyre "cool" people bought them anyway.

Well you have to remember that your car will sell for what someone is willing to pay for it.

Civics and Integras look attractive because of the availability of parts and support. It seems like anyone can build a decent Honda using Google or asking around local mechanics. I can ask anyone on Evo or Miata (that's what I drive) forums and they can tell me how to make a fast and fun Honda. Ask them about an SE-R and they'll just shrug.

Interestingly enough I bought my old B14 SE-R for $3000. I modded it and then parted it out back to stock when I got my Evo. I ended up selling it for $3000 three years after buying it and putting close to 40k miles on the chassis.

I don't mind low resale value of B13 SE-R's since I've been wanting one for a daily driver for a few months now.

Psh.. It's all in where you look.. People try to get a lot of money out of them. My first car was a 96 civic EX, 118k miles, 5 spd... All stock and was sick.. I paid 2k for it, put 50 bucks into it for a header and CAI off craigslist and I had a good car for 2050 bux.

I paid $3000 for my se-r 1.5 years ago when no one was selling them now I see them by the handfull for sale (and cheaper), since then I redid the interior 2 times, am about to put stock rims on, and am on the 2nd engine, plus I put 50,000 miles on it, I believe I got my moneys worth so far
