I've seen that page a while back. I'm not sure why I didn't add it to The Manifesto back then, but I've added it now.

Edit: I recall where I'd seen it. In a thread I made 5 years ago about it (and apparently even back then it was a repost). I'm merging the threads now.

I have some of the original magazines and reprinted some years ago from the library microfiche..... Still have an original 92 Sentra brochure. Long stories about the times I tried to buy one new in 93-94. There was also a "Best Handling Car under $20k" or something like that in 91 or 92 where the NX2000 was the only FWD, I believe. I remember the Pontiac Firebird Formula, Lotus Espirit, etc were in it.
I ended up with a 92 Mazda MX-3 GS 5 speed after my first car (a 90 Civic Si). Wish I had bought the NX2000, but it was an interesting car. After that, I bought a 95 Neon coupe dohc car, not even close the experience of driving the B13 SE-R.

I just read them all. I caught most of those the first time around.

Still delighted with my Classic after 22 years. I loved it bone stock and it's equally fun adorned with well-rounded modifications. It remains what it has always been, a car that is much more than the sum of it's parts.

And until you've driven one (if you appreciate the differences in vehicles), you can't understand how great they were/are. My Fiesta ST was close, but the suspension just beat me up too much, couldn't stand it after 30 minutes of driving. (I'm 43 and that probably doesn't help).

That's a Road & Track article. Think the Lotus was actually the short lived FWD Elan (lots of Isuzu Impluse bits), the Esprit would not have been <20k or even 30. Found a link this morning but the scan was crappy, was hoping to find better and a backup as well. But of course, being at werk, eventually .... had to do some.

I have the Motor Trend July 1991 "Cheap Thrills" magazine and one of my all time faves, the MT August 1994 "Bang for the Buck". Some of the best driving cars under $25k ever, if not at any price point IMO.
