Nope, I don't like the idea of using a restrictive OEM muffler of any type. I prefer keeping the system straight through. That is why the dynomax VT had a huge appeal, but I think it was poorly made when the flapper opens.

I haven't read the article yet, but here it is!

Dynomax VT Muffler Dyno Test! Does Quiet Mean Slow?

Basically, they gained some low end, mid-range took a shit and the top end is relatively unchanged.

Teal 97 disliked it and I have not heard it (the Dynomax VT) sound decent on a 4 banger, yet.

I wanna try this muffler....

wrong muffler vipr. thats a magnaflow. i'm gonna contact dynomax and see if i can get a refund or replacement.
although the "concept" behind the vt is a good one...when that flapper opens it still sounds buzzy/raspy/shitty, just like the 14" AND 18" magnaflows i've had.
me thinks BOTH internal chambers should be packed with sound absorption material. the little 15.5" Vibrant sounds MUCH better on the VE's big lobes. although there IS more in-cabin drone than the vt. similar to the 18" magnaflow actually.

I am thinking about trying this MagnaFlow muffler, next, Teal97.

I have a 4x9x14 MagnaFlow now. I wanna try the 5x8x18 MagnaFlow (the one pictured) and see what happens.

whoops:o
i see. this one should be significantly quieter than your current setup. hopefully not raspy in the higher rpm's. if you can, record some before/after comparo's for all to hear

Four videos can be seen on my YouTube site, viprdude's Channel - YouTube

There are also some I have uploaded all the way on the bottom from my first exhaust system. A smaller resonator and a large round body muffler were used and were louder than what I have now.

I used the same camera and filmed the ones of the muffler in the same area to ensure the acoustics are similar. If I get this larger 5x8x18 muffler, I will indefinitely post videos for us to compare using the same camera and at the same location as prior!

^What catalytic converter and resonator are you running?

this is true! but for me as a daily driver what other's hear compared to what I have to listen to in the cabin doesn't hold a candle. The muffler does knock down the drone, and that's what I needed... mine has started to rattle finally (after a year) but Advance Auto just ordered up another one for me to swap out... not a prefect solution, but one that's working for the time being... perhaps someday there will be the perfect performance exhaust that sounds awesome and is quite when I need it to be....

They have a lifetime warranty so that should be done at no cost to you right?
