bpt question..
So I was trying to clean out my BPT valve and sprayed some carb cleaner in it and I don't know if it's supposed to but all the carb cleaner came out from the seal part, like the pink / red / orange / whatever color seal thing.. Is that supposed to happen? (this is when I sprayed it through the bottom hole)

Ever press up on the valve when ur car is running? If your EGR is not clogged, your car should stall out. (It simulates a huge vacuum leak)

I would say it is normal.

The egr and bpt are different things.. The EGR is fine but I think the bpt valve might be leaking

Do you know what the BPT even does?

Well, you need the BPT to work in order to make the EGR work so I would guess that he has applied direct vacuum to the EGR and it works but it doesn't work when the BPT is hooked up.

One thing that I have found out is that the ECU will not let the EGR solenoid open until the coolant temp shows 170* so if you have a bad thermostat or the temp sensor is not reading correctly (don't trust the dash gauge), the EGR will never open.

Yes, which means this statement....

Is not a fair evaluation of his knowledge of the system.
Considering they are directly related to each other.
