I'm really hoping so. As far as I can see there is no way to raise the limit to 8k without a new ecu? Operation Gut the Interior (to hopefully get all the yellow paint off the panels and find out what kind of ECU is in there) will start tomorrow

pacesetter is old school thats for sure. Im surprised its still in that good of shape to be honest. They had soo many problems with their stuff breaking, cracking, rusting through and so on. Id definetly change it out for something larger.

You can see there is a very small amount of surface rust, just speckling, and more surface rusts on the welds near the tip. not bad at all for new england salt belt.

Thanks. Wish it wasn't so cold up here or I'd be out there right now. Tomorrow will tell!
So, there's nothing that someone could have done to raise my rev limit to 8k other than a new ecu? It's not like some honda people being able to just clip a wire and kill the limiter?

i bet your not reving to 8k, not tryin to bust your balls or call you a liar but from what i've seen almost ever se-r stock tach is a liar one way or another.. mine lies big time, at 8k im really only at 7500.. my friends is the other way around, @ 8k it shows 7800.. so ya.. dont get to upset when ya pop the ecu cover an fnid its a stocker lol..

Oh I wouldn't be upset either way. It cut at 8k and bounced between 8000 and about 8100. thats what made me start to think a bit about it. After finally getting to drive it outside of the quarter mile drive home when I bought it, I'm completely in love with it regardless.
