Have you checked your cam timing. I was having bad bogging under 3k when my exhaust cam was not installed right, fixed it and it went away. Also maybe a leaking injector. Does it throw any codes?

Crazy thought, but I had the same bogging issue(with arching from the ignition coil), looked like 4th of July under my hood. I changed all the wires, plugs, disty, and coil, and it magically went away. A new coil is $30ish, try it.

You are welcome.. Bogging can be a bear to fix. And once you fix it, you wont know what fixed it!! WHY, you ask?? Because you will change several things and start the car... and wont know which one fixed it!!

That why, I recommended the above. I did all of those things and my bogging problem disappeared. But dont know which one did it!!

Same thing with the High Idle problem. I fixed it once 3 yrs ago but dont know how I did it. Now its returned and I have been trying to fix it since Jan 8th without any luck!!

So what happened today??

BTW, if you have SSAC headers installed, checkout the testing discussion on this thread: http://www.sr20-forum.com/showthread.php?t=4386&page=2

Maybe worth a try....

adding a ground to the maf being detrimental is a big clue.

ither the + source to the maf is low and has rezistance or maf is very dirty and needs to be cleaned and or replaced

add a ground back to the maf and spray lots of brake clener through the small hole in the maf housing or remove two screws on top of the maf and clean the two little bars untill they are grey use lots of spray dont touch the bars i bet they are black

adding the maf ground making any change signals a maf problem

I had the same problem in my NX. it would sound like it was misfiring until i hit just under 3k then it would kick in hard. I have a air/fuel ratio meter in my car and it would go lean until 3k then rich. I thought it was the MAF, so i cleaned that, still didnt work.. took it to a mechanic and it turned out it was the TPS. I read someone mentioned that before and you said you would check the voltage, was it good?? I also replaced the cap, rotor, plugs, and wires and that didnt really help. I didnt get a chance to ground my maf before my motor took a dump and i had it replaced.. when they replaced it, it either came with a different TPS or they replaced it and didnt tell/charge me for it.
