Thread: Code Check shows nothing....

So, a while back I posted a problem with my car at idle. So far I have cleaned the IACV, replaced the TPS, timing is at 15 degrees and I am pissing smoke out the back that reeks of fuel and the spark plugs and 02 sensor are completely black from burning fuel. Start the car, idle likes crap, when I tried to time the vehicle properly and disconnected the TPS while the car was running, it stalled.....

Check the ECU for codes. Could be the coolant temperature or MAF sensor.

If it stalls, start it back up. <--That is written in the Field Service Manual.

If its dumping feul check your injectior pulse maybe there staying open and floodin the motor...but if you can get a scanner on the car that should help you figure out exactly what's goin on

Maybe your AFM is running in limp mode?! that is the voltage your AFM reading is below the lowest reading in the VQ map (spoken like a tuner havent I?) soln: try turning up your idle and see if it changes anything

I have tinkered with the idle and no change, still runs like crap...no doubt my pcv valve and o2 sensor were shot so I will take it from there

So I pulled the ECU out and ran the self diagnostic code by watching the check engine light and the dash....the car read 5 short flashes and 5 long flashes indicating normal operation....I pulled my new plugs back out and the are all totally black and covered in soot and so is my O2 sensor, reeks of fuel after I drive, I know the timing is set at 15 degrees. ANybody have any suggestions....?

Fuel Pump Regulator could be pushing too much gas through the injectors. Also could be the MAF, and clean the air filter if you haven't already, especially if you are using a stock air box.

I'm betting you have an injector leak. FSM says to pull the rail and remove the distributor and rotate the rotor while the ignition switch is ON. U should only have fuel flow when each injector clicks, if not then they r leaking.
