Yes, better than shockproof. I used shockproof in my trans and it didnt last much longer than the mobil 1 75w90 did. I switched to the Valvoline 85w140 and the next gearstack lasted 9 months and still going on another car with over 350whp, 350wtq.

Again its night and day difference. The shockproof has issues lubricating bearings and can lead to bearing wear and again the Valvoline has way better cusioning properties than the shockproof does. You can feel it when you drive it. Shifts will be way better. Only downside is the stiff shifter and shift changes when its dead cold. But when it even gets slightly warm, its perfect.

Ive gotten several people on here to switch to it, as it makes that big of a difference and nobody that has switched has yet to sheer a gearstack apart. Most all of them are making over 400whp as well. Its good stuff. Dont bother with the synthetic or durablend. Its not gonna make much of a difference for the extra money.

Take my word for it man. You wont regret it.

I went with the 85W140 conventional like you said and it does feel good!

I am however still missing three mount bolts (I haven't driven it much like this). Anyone happen to know the thread/pitch?

They are the two bottom bolts that bolt through the engine into the transmission and also one of the rear mount bolts (the one furthest back away from the engine, there are three total). I want to get these ASAP because I plan on trying to autocross this beast with far too much hp.

Yeah definitely get all the bolts in there especially if its one on the rear motor mount bracket. Dont want to be breaking off a chunk of the transmission. Make sure they are good and tight. Take one of the matching bolts and take it to an auto parts store or hardware store that sells metric bolts and they can determine the length and thread pitch.

I can probably do that for the one that is sort of hidden on the rear mount (not the one that goes through the mount insert, but recessed into the mount), but I don't have either of the two for the bottom of the transmission (they are smaller than the rest, may be the same as the rear mount bolts in thread pitch though). I can probably figure it out, just have to jack the car up again (I'm exhausted with it).

i've got all new bolts for all my motor mounts and trans to engine bolts also..

well they're not all brand new, some are 2 years old, some a year old.. i just replaced them as i went. got em all from greg

Yeah, just give greg a call. So your missing the one that goes in the recess of the bracket. There are 3 bolts on that section of the mount, two longer ones that are the same size and length and then a shorter one that goes in the recess.

If its the shorter one then yeah just let greg know. As they are specified lengths and you want the specified lengths. As for the bottom two bolts that go through the upper oil pan into the trans, yes they are the same size bolt and thread pitch as the 3 on the mount bracket. 14mm head. To be honest i never install those two bolts but its your car. I havent had a problem. I would be more concerned about the rear mount being fully bolted. Again dont want to break the case because you didnt have all the bolts in there.

Since we are all on the topic of transmissions here, there isn't a way to switch 4th gear on a gear stack, correct?

Yes you can, but it's much easier to swap the gear stacks out because you will have them out already.

Thanks guys, I will get a hold of Greg about that bolt (yes I believe it is that shorter one). I don't remember ever having the two bottom bolts since doing the SR swap 5 years ago lol.
