B15 Tranny Carnage
Got the tranny pulled and taken apart this evening. Here are a couple of pics and a video:

All the other gears look fine, just both of the 4th gears are boned (however the input 4th is completely toasted).

Now it's time to do the QG18 gear stack swap, with my old B14 tranny FD ring gear (I found the old B14 transmission at the last place I changed it lol), and press my 5th gears onto the new stacks for a super long 5th gear . Thinking of throwing a very stiff FLSD in there too while it's apart.

Nice carnage. I've broken 4th twice. 3rd once. 2nd once. lol. Gotta use heavy shockproof in there man. It will make them last a ton longer.

The QG stacks work awesome!

I've heard from a couple of people that it doesn't lubricate well? I was running Valvoline Durablend 80w90 when this happened.

Ya I can tell you from experience that the heavy does a good job of cushioning the gears. The first trans I had lasted 2 years with heavy shockproof and a sprung clutch. Didn't break until I changed to an unsprung clutch. The 2nd one broke running synchromesh within 3000 miles. The 3rd broke with valvoline 80w90.... and so on. The heavy stuff works.

Well I shall be getting some soon then! I used to run it but went to something else that is supposed to lubricate better because I never thought I would break a B15 transmission, not with the setup I'm running at least.
