Thread: looking for ecu adapter...

iv got a 1996 sr20de motor in a 1993 sentra se-r. 93 everything, wire harness ect., going crazy trying to find out why it wonte start... think i need to get an adapter to run a 1996 ecu... everything that needs to be hooked up, is.. timing is on, feul lines are right, pulse it getting to injector, got spark, new feul filter and water pump... if you have an adapter or know ware to find one that would be gr8! Or if theirs somthing im missing let me know............. thanx for reading Nathan

You don't really need to run a 96 ECU. You can run a 93 ECU with a 96 motor. You just need to keep all of the OBD1 parts (intake manifold, and all OBD1 sensors from the old motor) for it to work correctly.

Otherwise, you could run a 96 ECU by using a step-up harness (which is backwards compared to what most of us do).

the intake from a 93 sr20 doesnt fit a 96 head...
i baught the motor befor i realy knew what i was doing.. If i only knew then what i know now.... just trying to get it running to sell and go the right way.. it looks good though, polished valve cover, headers and and aftermarket intake... ill have pics later.

Swap the sensors from the 93 to 96 motor and the 93 harness will work just fine.
