It was a bitch, but you did it. Shows me some hope at least.

I am contemplating replacing the engine with a VE but the engine is still good.

Mine was the water pump, seals expand when warm, contract when cold, mine only leaked when cold,
.
I just took the bolts out of the cross member motor mounts, removed the passenger mount and jacked the engine up, took me 3-4 hours to get it all replaced, hint racheting wrenches and regular wrenches are almost the only tools you need besides a breaker bar and something to get leverage on the wrenches

jack the side of the engine up.......or unbolt the entire engine and just use an engine hoist to lift the entire thing a little bit. then you could get sockets and air tools on it!

correct me if i am wrong, but arnt you the guy who's dad has a dealership? or you work at a dealership? get a cooling system pressure tester and pump the system up to 19ish psi when the car is cold. you will find your leak without randomly replacing parts. or you can do it the cool guy way and get a UV leak detector.........i love mine, sooooooooo james bond.

My dad works at the dealership, he does not own it. Just works there. I do not work at said dealership.

I try to figure things out by myself rather than going down there when I see a drip of liquid coming from my car. I like finding out the problem without little intervention and now I am thinking about just replacing the water pump since the price is so cheap for a new Nissan OEM unit. (I got a quote tomorrow for a new water pump and it was less than $60, brand new OEM unit and no I cannot get those prices to anyone else on the forum, sorry)

I could do a leakdown test just to prove something I already know. I have allowed days of myself monitoring the coolant and drips on the pavement to see what is wrong. I only wanted some more brainstorming to see if I missed anything.

The UV leak detector would be more useful if it were not in a spot where pullies are constantly spinning while the engine runs. I have coolant all over the underside of the hood, small spots on the valve cover, the whole front of the engine has coolant slapped around it like paint.

all i mean is if your dad knows one of the techs......just pop in there one day and see if he will let you use it. you will find the leak in seconds and be 100% sure. but its probly coming out of the weep hole of the water pump.

Not sure I will check tomorrow . One was on my w11 motor and the other is almost new that was on my built motor . I believe they are both Nissan pumps .
