Well, ordered a new Nissan OEM water pump. Part number: 21010-53J05

Keith, I truly appreciate the offer. I would rather purchase a new OEM Nissan unit and never worry about it again. You know what I am saying? Thank you though for your offer. I appreciate it very much.

I think it is just in early signs of failure. I cannot wiggle the pulley at all warm or cold so that is something good. Once again, I really appreciate the offer. I would go electric, but I am too cheap. That, and, I dunno how much longer this body will lost. The engine is gold as far as I know, but the body is showing age with the rust...badly. I want another 200SX to transfer parts over too.

I found a nice white one on autotrader about 40 miles away, anyway wanna give me a loan of $2500?

New pump is here. Just waiting to find a good time to install. I will use some of your suggestions here to help me with the change.

Well, changed the pump today.

Dun.........dun-dun-dun.....

It was leaking through the bottom weep hole. The inside began rusting, no shaft play at the moment but I can feel moments of resistance when I am spinning the wheel by hand compared to the new one.

Very limited room to work with, kind of annoying, but at least that is done. No more leaky front end of the engine!

What the old one looked like. 1995 did not have the old design water pump. This is the original Nissan unit.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I think its better than starting a new one. My coolant started leaking and I think its coming from the water pump. I'm not leaking from the radiator or any of the hoses that I can see. I don't have coolant splashing around the engine compartment like Kyle did. However, the coolant seems to be pooling up along the lip of the oil pan and then dripping from there.

From your guys' experience, does it sound like the leak is coming from the water pump?

Thanks

It does sound this way. There is not much on the front of the engine to leak water besides the water pump.

...the lip of the oil pan directly below the belts and water pump? Then I'd agree to it being the water pump. Check the upper hose at the block....could be seeping at the connection. I have one doing this atm and it doesn't show signs of leaking until you run your finger up under it...but it would pool on the lip of the pan that faces the radiator.

If it's the water pump, let me know if you need help with it. Its not too bad of a job.
