tranny does not hold the power
hi to all. i can not keep a tranny at all i just put in a new one and did 8 3rd gear pulls to set my electronic boost controller and 3rd gear exploded like always. how can i make this work what do i do. i dont have any more left. i went out playing like usual and smoked the usual badass v8 cobra. then i played some more and 3rd blew again. im frustrated here. i have a 91 sentra 18 pounds gt28rs 50 lb injectors cobra maf s3 cams and so on. any help would be great . also im tired of the 5th gear pop out and would like to swap for a six speed. what do i need to do thanks guys

you can try a b15 or a p11 trans, there a little pricey but there proven stronger then the stock b13/b14 gearbox.. but in my opinion the key to making your shit last is not shifting like mario andretti. easy shifts will out perform the best tranny in the world..jus my 0.02 tho

Yes the "P11" is a 99+ Infiniti G20. Do some searching here on the forum and you will

find the info you need to swap it in, it's very easy. And get rid of that JGY junk...

Good P11's trannies are 2000+. As much as I hate to say it the JGY clutch is the only one that didn't disintegrate on me, of course I only had it a couple months. But I've blown 2 B15 Se trans so the 6 speed is worth the while if you are serious IMO.

P.S. 3rd is the weakest don't do pulls in it if you can help it.

Doesn't matter who makes the clutch, you can only run so much through 215mm. And for $1800 you can go Spec V tranny, with the whole conversion with beefy axles, and hubs and brakes. Lots of stuff interchanges since the b15 came with the sr and the qr trans. I had the unfortunate experience of converting a spec v motor / tranny to a b13 setup once! That was an adventure for the worse .
