ok..so I began installing my tranny today in my 91 b13 se-r. got it all bolted up, got the driver side mount on fine, but i cannot for the life of me remember how the other mount on the firewall/passenger side bolts up. my starter is loose and i dont remember it being loose when i took the old tranny out...and for some reason i only remember taking out two bolts from under there. could someone post a picture of how that mount is setup? like what size bolts i need and where they go...im just super confused. thanks guys

When I did mine I had to do it with the cross member loose and I had to jack up the engine and ugh it was hard to get it lined up correctly...

Yeah I had to do it by myself too and where the cross member bolts up on the front the 2 bolts had a nut for it and you couldn't even get anything in it to hold it but finally I got it after like a hour... I also did it with the front tranny mount on just recommend loosening up the front mount and either taking off or loosening the transmission mount as well because it was a BITCH the way I did it... I just changed mine in august and it went bad in a month... It's under warranty but I'm too lazy to do it again =\

bump from the past...
Ok so now that the weather has broken, I've finally been showing my car some affection. As far as this mount is concerned, I remember only take two bolts out of the bottom, and I noticed I need atleast three. I've snapped a pic from my cell phone so I could explain what I mean...

The two bolt holes to the left on that bracket are the ones I believe I took out originally, and the one at the top right (once again, I believe) was missing. Either way I know I only took out two bolts from down there, and then the transmission came loose.

Now I've also snapped a pic of the two bolts that came out. Additionally in the picture are 5 bolts that I bought from the dealership. I pretty much just asked the parts guy to order me all the bolts that the mount uses, so I know that I atleast have them all. This car is actually missing a small amount of bolts in other areas, so I figured it could be the same situation.
Heres the pic..

The two on the left are the ones I took out, and obviously the others are the ones that were bought new.

Now with all of this, I realized that my starter is loose and that's the reason why I'm alittle confused. It is also another main reason why I decided to purchase the new set of bolts. Do one of these three bolts go through it to hold it in place? Do I even need the new bolts I bought, or atleast can anyone identify the one that I can clearly see is missing from the bracket and needs to go in?

Thanks for any help guys, and please excuse the long post. I just wanna get my b13 running so I can enjoy it for a long time to come. It's all for the love of the car lol.

It's hard to tell the scale, but it looks like the two bolts you took out (used) are the two bolts that hold the starter in place. They are quite long, and use a 14mm socket.

The other bolts you bought (good job by the way) are all needed for the rear bracket as well. The very short one goes in the top right I believe. It should be a 17mm socket.
Basically, it is short, so it only holds on a thin section of the bracket. The longer ones obviously go through thicker sections of the bracket.

Two of the three medium length ones go in the two spots on the left that you identified as required with a 17mm socket. The last medium length bolt probably goes in the recessed section of the bracket with a 14mm socket. The last longer one I think is probably the bolt for the engine mount itself? It also looks the same as the two starter bolts, which is odd...

Honestly, you might have extra bolts there and/or still missing some. Use the pics below and common sense to figure out what goes where and what you might be missing if anything. Don't put a bolt in a hole and bottom it out. If it looks too long, don't tighten it down all the way and break something.

Here are a couple pics that might help you a little bit.

This shows that bolt everyone forgets deep down in there.
