Yeah, stronger for sure. They are the Pro series from ARP so very nice stuff. I simply ran a thread cleaner through the crank holes a couple times and these threaded in by hand. I used ARP Moly Assembly Lube and torqued to 65 ft. lbs. and no issues at all. I bottomed them out in the crank and verified they work fine with my Fidanza flywheel and a stocker as they are 1mm longer than the stock bolts.

Get Ford bolts, they can be reused and can be torqued at 65ft lbs with ARP moly lube or 75ft lb dry

I've reused and had no problems, but would rather be safe then sorry, so will get these. eBay has them for $39 shipped too (Summit charges $9.99 for shipping).

I'm surprised Ford has metric threaded bolts though. Also whats up with the moly lube?

ARP makes a special formulated lube that gets perfect torque results. It is needed when torqueing bolts into a different material and so on. Best stuff I have ever used. They did a test on horsepower TV on it and it came out exact for like 10 straight torque sequences vs. other lubes, motor oil or dry.

You bet

ARP FLYWHEEL BOLTS FORD 4.6L 5.4L MODULAR 254-2801 - eBay (item 180559569894 end time Mar-09-11 23:42:58 PST)
ARP 100-9903 Assembly Lubricant 50 ml - eBay (item 110640403862 end time Feb-21-11 18:51:30 PST)

I wish I could get both from same seller, but paying extra few bucks for shipping is better then giving out my credit card an extra time.

Cool info Brent. I'll likely get a set net time. I've been real bad about re-using old ones. Actually I think it's been 3 or 4 times I've re-used the same flywheel bolts. Not cool. And speaking of torque. The last time I put the flywheel on I (for some messed up reason) thought they got torqued to 90 ft-lbs so that's what I did. It wasn't until afterward that I saw the FSM had 62 ft-lbs or something like that in the specs. Whoops!

If my flywheel comes off in the future, I guess I'll know why.
