Need a favor and a couple questions...
Seems rather hard to get answers around here, so I'll give it one last shot.

1) Can someone measure the distance between the end of the drivers side CV axle and the transmission for me? Trying to decide if mine has popped out on it's own somehow.

2) How hard is it to change the rear motor mount, and is there a how-to somewhere? I checked the how-to section, may have missed it.

3) Could either of those items above cause a grinding/scraping sound when I turn the car to the right? Nothing is rubbing in the wheel-well, I checked three times.

Answering #2.
It is very easy to change a rear motor mount.

Jack up the front and support with stands.
Unbolt the front and rear of the engine crossmember. (There are two 14mm bolts up front and two 14mm bolts in the rear.)
Remove front lower dog bone mount bolt (14mm).
Remove rear engine mount through bolt (14mm).
The crossmember with rear mount attached will drop down.
From there it should be obvious on how to replace with new mount.
If you're only replacing the pressed-in insert with a new one then prepare to have a press handy.

Answering question # 3.

I didn't respond to your previous thread because I wasn't sure about an answer. However I think the noise could be coming from the left wheel bearing failing. Or any of the CV joints failing. There's lots of things it could be. It's a hard diagnosis.

Wouldn't either of those items make noise when I turn left as well? It's weird because the more I turn right it gets slightly worse, but when turning left everything shuts up and it gets quiet. I tried wiggling the left front wheel back and forth and found a little play in it, but I figure that's from the tie rod ends that are pretty much shot.

That's really starting to sound like a left front wheel bearing. Do the wheel wiggle test again and this time watch your tie rods/knuckle this time and see if they are moving with the wheel, or staying stationary compared to the wheel.

I'll check again tonight. I know a previous owner has already changed that hub since the brake shield has stuff written on it in paint marker. Whatever it is, I'm hoping it lasts me another couple weeks.

One of the bolts on the rear mount is kinda hidden, you'll have to dig deep and use a pretty long extension to get to it.

The hubs may be shot. I had to replace mine before because the axle nut was not torqued down enough and that nut needs a couple hundred lb/ft of torque. Thankfully one of the local salvage yards had an NX with good hubs and spindles. I still have the spindles if you need some.

I'll just try and find a good used pair on here when I get paid next. Hopefully it doesn't fail before then and kill me.

One other thing. Changed the oil this weekend and ran into a problem with the filter. Anyone know why I had to buy an oil filter for a VG33 to fit my JDM highport? Factory SR20 filter threads were too small...
