Let's Talk Wheel Spacers...
So after a long over due look. I realized that the time has come for some nice spacing on the Se-L.

But what I need to know is:

What Brand?
And Should I extend the studs?

I only plan on going MAYBE 5MM in the front and 8MM in the back just to flush it out. And I found this... which makes since. DUH!

So with 5MM and 8MM should I extend the studs?

Discuss.

This has been bugging me everyday. I have spacers but the hub needs to be bored and I have nismo extended studs. I hate the way the wheels sit inside the body of the car but I dont thin just spacing it will do. Yea I want to space them out but I also want to get bigger tires. spacing with thin tires just looks half assed to me. I currently have 205 45 16 tires. I want to go to a 215 55 16 with the spacers and studs then I will be happy. I dont remember what your tire size is but I say go as wide as possible. Still runnin the slips?

Yea... still running the slips. And they are 15X8 with a 205 50 15 tire on them. They look pretty wide. So I'm happy with that aspect of the issue. Just that the rear end just looks sunk in and I want to clean it up a little more before I do the rear sway.

Not bad. Yea slips naturally look chunky. You should be good then. I say get different studs. They dont have to be huge you can just get a little longer than oem like my nismos are. Its nice to have new studs and know you will have enough room for spacers and to have your lug nuts all the way tightened on.

I would do 5mm all around. 8mm is pushing it in the rear, although might be okay. Maybe do 6mm in the rear? It might be easier to just to 5mm all around though so you don't have to deal with keeping track of which spacer is which when rotating tires and such.

Any brand at all will be fine for these small spacers. You have a lot less to worry about when you use these small spacers. H&R is good. Plenty of machine shops can whip up something this simple though. Maybe Overkill is still willing to provide them. I think universal ones can be had on eBay for stupid cheap. On the baller end is something like Rogue Engineering's spacers (but not sure if they make them in our lug pattern.)

For 5mm you won't require extended studs. Anything over 5 or 6mm you should start to think about extended studs. Take a look at your lug nuts right now. How much stud do you have extending past the lug nut? That's about as thick as you want to go with a spacer before going with extended studs.

I have 15mm H&R spacers in the rear with 215-45-16s, 5mm H&Rs in the front. Extended studs all around. Wheels fit perfect, think '10 BMW M3 flush. H&R spacers are hub centric and they supply the studs with every kit, even the 5mm spacer one. Falken RT615Ks are wide enough to fill the wheel wells with decent rubber. 94 B13, unsure of the B14 fitment but the widest I would go is 15mm if you want it near fender flush in the rear.

no need for extended studs with 5MM spacers. you can get away with it running 8MM spacers too, but I wouldn't recommend it.

Don't use cheapy extended studs. They have a tendency to spin on you, ask me how

Nismo studs are the best and very close to stock. You can even re-use them if removed.

FYI I believe they are the worst by a far margin. So bad as to be unsafe.

Well, I guess they are the best for me . The nismo studs are not as soft as the other studs on the market and less prone to spinning.
