did you spin the shafts while the case was open? To see if you could still hear it?

Not yet...this is the 2nd trans....first wss b13 lsd now its a b14.....same thing is going on....

Almost seems like part of the gear fork selector pary is resting on a gear.....i havent torn it apart nor do I really want,to.....i wish I knew what to look for...

but i havent fellt like checking this one beacaus eive been lazy about it....and i just draind the fluid...and same sypmtoms of my old trans were same for this one...

and the drain plugg looked identical to the pic on page 1....all mettal slivers stuck to the magnet...and has the same grinding/vibration moise from before..

i dont get it... its probably some bearing inside the trans..

am i using the wrong gear oil?? i thin k my next one ill try out that valvoline stuff ashotn uses


there was a thread that someone was replaciong bearings inside a trans...wth did it go.

Is there side to side play in the input shaft?
Are the dowel pins b/t eng/trans still there?

yeah dowel pins were there when i installed it.....i havent taken it off the motor yet but i will check it...

my guess is the shaft bearings are shreding....but why would the same thing happen to 2 diff trans's?

i mean what causes the bearing to goo bad.??? the gear oil used? the way i drive it? age?......

those are not needed on our fwd sr's

to the op, what gear oil have you been using?

They should be if you have a B13/14 trans
the B15 and P11 dont use them.
