Thread: Loss of clutch free-play

What causes the free-play slack to shorten ? It was properly adjusted, but I noticed the other day there was not much at the top of the pedal when it was fully out. When I checked it under the hood there was no slack at all, so I adjusted and added some more.

I always heard that as a clutch wears cable slack increases ?

yep sounds like you starting to wear that pressure plate and clutch out,,,



I just replaced my clutch in my hard top nx and the clutch itself looked fine but there was NO grip left and the cable was nice and tight with no slack,

so I just replaced it all and I have great pedal now.. guess it was the pressure plate getting weak
