Heater core
How hard is it to do this. I looked around the bottom of my dash and didnt really get to see much. My heat stop working on my sentra the other week and its getting cold so i have to fix it. Its not leaking which is wierd cause i thought when they went bad they leaked but i suspect that the heater core is my problem since my heat is not working ....

what do you think is wrong with the heater core if it isn't broken ?
is the blower working
does your temp gauge work
did you check your thermostat

Does the fan work? Is so, I'd think it's either the heater core or t-stat.

My heater core went bad, I was loosing coolant and didn't know it. My heater never worked once I got the car on the road. I later found out my coolant was leaking into the passenger floor board and out of the frame rails. Which is why I never saw coolant on the ground.

I think it's the heater core because there really ain't nothing else that can effect the heat coming out of my air vents. And yes the blower motor work I can feel the air blowing through the vents it's just cold air. Yes my temp gauge works. I been driving the car for weeks now and my coolant levels are the same. No over heating or anything. So I'm kind of at a lost on what to do. I just wanna get to my heater core to at least inspect it

did you check under the dash floor to see if their are any type of fluid leakage in the cabin if their is then i say sure heater core, if not then you might have another issue, what about you thermostat have you checked replaced it in a while could it be stuck open, also what about your flapper to change climate control could it be stuck on cold, if you are not leaking coolant and your radiator hoses are getting hot then you have another issue, i could be wrong and the heater core could be clogged but that does not happen very often .

yeah its fu cking cloged up like a bitch. Im not sure if this was a validated test or what not but i took both upper and lower heater hoses comming off the fire wall and i blew compress air inside and i didnt feel one single bit of air come out of the bottom part of the heater core outlet. I even turned the blower motor off to see if maybe that open a valve or soemthing and nuthing happen. Im going to check my heat indecater and see if its stuck on cold or something

their is a switch so yeah to check is a good idea, if that doesn't work blow compressed air through it if that doesnt work then yeah your in for a decent amount of work taking that out i just put might back in after my wire tuck along with my dash board etc etc etc....

As long as you have the upper and lower heater hose coming out the fire wall off all ready, try hooking up a garden hose instead of compressed air. The water pressure may flush out the core and if not, then you may be able to actually verify a leak while the water is running through the core.
I'd hate to pull a heater core and then find out that wasn't the problem.
