Thread: Car running like crap....suggestions?

Here what I got guys....lookin for some suggestions from some of you more experience SR20 guys....

My B13 runs like crap at idle, the engine is "buckin" and "chugging"....but, anything over 1200 rpms and she runs like a raped ape. I have never run into something like this before and could really use your help...here is what I have done so far to try to remedy the issue.

1. Cleaned the MAF with MAF cleaner and that actually improved the performance but did not help with the idle problem.

2. The timing is set dead on at 17 and has a full tank of 92

3. Air filter is clean

4. No vacuum or fuel leaks anywhere..

Please answer up with some suggestions or even if this has happened to you before...thanks guys

Clean the throttle body and inspect and clean all grounds. It could also be the Idle Control Air Valve, the one on the passenger side of the engine.

^^^ Mine does that when it's cold. Misfires and hesitates like crazy anything under 1500rpm. Once it warms up fully though, runs like a champ.

How's your valve cover gasket?, and any hoses leading to your valve cover? leaking?

This is typically the cause of that kind of problem.

just do a tune up man. new plugs new wire new cap and rotor clean your IACV and she should be good as new
