Transmission Help
How do you remove the bellhousing from the transmission? The transmission is assembled in two parts. I need to swap the bellhousing only onto another transmission because of a casing crack right above the drain bolt. I removed all the bolts and tried to pry it off but there seems to be something restricting it from seperating. Help please if someone has done this before.

there is a snap ring you need to take off so that the main shaft can slide out of the support bearing on the back of the case. I think there is a little cover over if the a few bolts holding it on. Its been so long since i have torn one apart

this is the only pics i have from when i had it apart, i doubt it helps much

There are (6) 10mm (I believe) bolts holding the rear cover on. Remove that cover and the snap ring will be right there.

Yep, you've missed the snap ring. It's the bigger silver one, not the smaller black one. It holds the outside of the bearing on the shaft to the case. It's usually hidden by fluid.

I got it off by removing the snap ring that was mentioned. Thanks a lot for the help.
