P0705 trans range malfunction
Every once in a while I get a trans range sensor circut malfunction code (PRNDL input) P0705, it has came up 2 times in the last week, and 4 times in the last month (it usually only comes up 2 times a year), there are no loose or missing wires going to the trans, I see it mostly come up a few minutes after high rpm shifting
.
Car is 96 200sx se-r with 206,000 miles original manual trans, and second motor
.
Could it be a problem with the computer, it has the rev limiter in the right spot for a manual computer

That's the sensor towards the rear of the car right?

If you are getting the PRNDL code, it is likely the transmission selector switch is going bad. Our cars have a little switch on the tranny that tell the computer when you are in a certain gear. It is a little more simplified though. I get the code on my P11 trans because I never wire that thing up.
