Loud pop when I cranked the motor
I replaced an injector today but while the injector was out I turned the car on to accessory to close my window and I forgot that the injector was out which put a lot of fuel into the intake manifold runner for that cylinder. I put everything back together and I forgot that all that fuel was in there and when I cranked the motor I heard a really loud pop (so loud that I thought I blew my motor). After I remembered about the fuel, I removed the plug and cranked the motor to get the extra fuel out. The car then turned over fine and It seems to be fine, I will be doing a compression test though. I was just wondering what everyone thinks the loud pop was and if it may have caused damage. Again it only did it once and after I got all the fuel out of the cylinder it turned over fine.

if you had a ton of fuel everywhere in the manifold, unregulated, im betting it all just flashed when you cranked over the engine and the pop was simply all the excess gas everywhere igniting back into the intake. I'd think you're fine, but still go over everything and the compression check will tell you or sure.

Yah it backfired, that's all. Has happened to mine plenty of times while tuning. Everything should be fine.
You should have heard some of the afterfires I got one day while tuning. The neighbors came over because they'd thought a bomb had gone off. Shit was deep.

Ben my car only did it once because I stopped cranking as soon as I heard it and it was loud. I can imagine what a bunch of them would sound like!

No no, it was a bunch like it would happen during one cranking session and then I'd stop cranking obviously. And then it would happen again during another cranking session (trying to get the start-up tune setup properly on an ECU with little SR20 documentation). It wouldn't ever happen rapidly one after another. That would be nuts. =D
