GT28-makes since.

On a side note though...I can TOTALY see why people say "you will break your tranny" with these clutches! On a good shift from 1st to second yesterday it gripped HARD!!! Hard enough that I see now why these can break trannys so easily. Luckily I dont push my car that hard all the time or that much in general. You do have to be careful with these clutches. You start ragging on your car and your gonna start breaking stuff!

^^^Its not just the springs. Ive seen pictures where the WHOLE disk fell apart. Im talking friction pads falling off. Ive also seen it where the metal literaly seperated from teh splined part of the disk. I think the one where the spline part seperated was on an unsprung disk.

Dont get it twisted though. Spec, XTD, JGY, ECT...they are all the same clutches. ACT used to use spec disk I think but recently started using there own yellow sprung disk.

Me myself I stick with Clutchnet! They make all there own ****.

ACT was never someone else, they always made their own discs and PP. The rest of those are the same. XTD I would only use Flywheel.

Clutchnet is a nice clutch for our cars.

Yeah , but wouldn't welding your tranny case " delay " the time until it gets broken? I would say weld tranny case, use Redline MT90 heavy, and be careful in 3rd gear.....

I may decide to do a writeup in a few weeks about welding the tranny and replacing the clutch.

well welding the case isnt going to help mechanical breakdown of the actual transmission gears. these clutches are designed to handle up to 300% over stock torque ratings. your car isnt going to be the only thing that is going to get broke, gears, cases, axles, clutch cables, ect those are all things to worry about too.

but like johnny said, how you drive the car really depends on how your transmission is going to respond with the clutch, you can cyro treat the gears and all that which will give you greater resistance to breaking but there are going to be cetain point that even the strongest transmission is going to suffer from hard shifts, hard launches.

but in all honesty, if you are increasing the power, increasing the rev limit, increasing the pedal stiffness, increasing the torque load and torque capacity... breaking things is just the name of the game... things wear out faster, and break faster with more power

Exedy Clutches on the other hand seem to be like OEM. My boy has that kit in his SE-R and hasnt had any problems with it at all.

exedy clutches are like oem but it depends on the clutch that you go with, they have aggressive clutches too

^^Very True. I just didnt want to really speak on those though since ive never ran one or known anyone personally who has. But there full faced disk's work very well and the pressure plates they suply are just like ACT's Heavy Duty one which makes a nice feeling clutch. I think he has the stage one
