Larger capacity oil filter for our cars?
I'm using an oil filter housing off of a 2000 or newer RR SR20DE (same thread and filter as the lowport non-rr heads) , just curious if anyone had expierence with a larger filter that would fit and seal to the oil filter housing? Thanks guys

00 rr? get one from a maxima(cant remember the year). thats what i ran on my b15 rr sr20. it was a bosch. cant recall if its was a 3300 or not. the bosch one was like 3-4oz bigger was all. fit fine, car didnt seem any different

ha! i use Nissan filter 15208-9E000 on my G20 ( rr ) and my Maxima ( VQ30DE )

or you can use Purolater L14610 which is the longer filter

and if you want to be slick, a Honda oil filter will also fit too ( as long as its a non S2000 oil filter )

A bosch 3330 fits, so does (in fram pn's) 6607, 7317, 3614, maybe more

^6607 it should read

funny random fact. we share the same oil filter as the rx8 and protege 1.6... so there might be some bigger ones in that area as well.

i remember a handful of spec guys using the nissan titan oil filter. dont know if that will fit the sr though...

Stay away from fram they are cheap quality and will not filter better then a dealership oil filter.

There was someone that posted a link before to another forum that showed someone cutting apart all the different brands. Price doesn't mean it's going to be better either. Like many products, they are mostly made in the same factory they just get put into different boxes and have different labels on the filter themselves. Personally after reading that I typically only use bosch and Napa Gold.

Hopefully someone can find that link because it was an interesting read. I know that when he cut the K&N filter apart it didn't look as nice as the bosch and the K&N is 3-4 times the price

edit: i have my filter relocated so i use a cooler and a much larger than OEM filter also.
