I have owned a magnaflow system twice now. The first one was...
Weapon R header (2.0" collector)
Magnaflow high-flow cat (2.5" in and 2.5" out)
Magnaflow aluminum resonator (18" length of the muffler section and 4 inches around)
Magnaflow aluminum 6 inch round body muffler (with 4" tip)

Lots of highway and steady RPM droning. Pretty annoying and is corroded to all hell, broke apart and took a dump. This was after 5 years of daily use and PA salty winter roads.

The new system is currently...
DNA Motoring header (2.5" collector)
Magnaflow high-flow cat (2.5" in and 2.5" out)
Magnaflow Stainless Steel resonator (22" length of the muffler section, 28" overall length and 4 inches around)
Magnaflow Stainless Steel 5" by 9" oval body muffler (with 2.5" tip)

So far, no highway droning. The only thing changed was resonator and muffler. The brand was the same. Relating brands to droning is a false idea. Most people think droning is brand relative when the parts chosen are the real problem.

We all need more money!!!If you get it for free, than that is awesome! Put it on and have fun! It will be quieter than a magnaflow muffler that is for sure.

That subie muffler is designed to be quieter than the magnaflow muffler, all day long.

btw, you shouldn't pay more than $50 for a used STi muffler, some guy on one of the Subaru forums tried to tell me it would cost $200 to ship the damn thing.. I just laughed at the moron...
