Thread: Wiring Harnesses

So i have a 93 NX2000 with a automatic...Im going to be swapping motors in it (prolly just stick with the SR20DE) and want to swap out my automatic trans with a 5-speed.

In doing this.... i know i need to replace the ECU...but do i also need to replace the engine wiring harness???

Also what kind of problem will i run into while doing this swap..if any

My plan is to search local junk yards for a sentra and get all my shift linkage and clutch assembly pieces there...those parts should work accordong to my resarch...

You don't have to change anything really. All I did was jump one wire over so it would still start. Of course I don't have reverse lights either lol.

I have done this to my 91 n14 and the manual loom plugged straight into the body loom. You can play with the auto loom to get it to work but it is a bit of a time waster if you can get a manual loom instead. You would have to trip the park switch, connect up the reverse sensor to your auto loom and wire up the neutral switch to the auto loom too. And you will need a manual cross member with the front engine mount/torque strap. If you don't use this you will possibly break an engine mount on your 3rd launch (speaking from experience here) lol.

Well there's just one wire that needs to be jumped so that the car thinks it's in park, more or less. I didn't care about all the other stuff, so I just left it. The ONLY wires going to my 5 spd trans is for the speed sensor.

So the wire you jumped was the one that goes to the tranny?

It's sort of the same as the clutch inhibitor switch. You just have to connect two wires together. I can't remember what color they were right now, and I've redone the wiring on the car so that's all gone now anyway. Check the old forum, I'm sure it's posted there somewhere.
