For the DE maf, just pull the sensor out.

The first time I cleaned it, I took everything out because A) I could not get the screws to come off easily the first time and I did not want to strip them and B) I wanted to clean everything in there anyway and it was a good thing because it was fairly dirty. Who knows how much air flow it impeded, I just wanted to do it.

But every time after that, I would take the two screws off the MAF housing, spray down the two hot wires, let them dry and then put it back on the MAF.

yeah i mean its fairly easy anyway you do it , weather you take it completely apart but like viprdude said dont chance taking it apart if you think the bolts wont come off. you can just spray it out and clean it that way or take it apart and do it the little more detailed way either or will work.

I can attest to this. My car ran like crap when i bought it, and would stall right after warm-starting it unless i feathered the pedal.

About 6 months and 2500 miles later, my car is still running really, really good.

I used a very small soft paint brush with some carb cleaner on it to clean the wires, just spraying them alone wasnt enough, once I had cleaned them with the paintbrush i did give them a spray to remove any loose stuff.

noticed a hell of an increase once I had done it
