GTI-R hubs are unique to the R.

You can use a B13 hub, but where the tie rod connects to the hub is in a different position (about 2" lower on the B13 hub) which isn't good for steering geometry. If you were changing the pair it would be better, but still not an ideal solution.

I see, what if I wanted to just replace the bearing...would it be okay to use the b13 oem bearing to replace my bearing?

I don't see that it would matter but I would still like advice.

have you tried asking greg v to see if he can get you the parts?

Sometimes people recommend that you repack the bearing rather than replace the hub. Certain aftermarket manufacturers do a really bad job, and you may have to replace the hub/bearing after 30k miles. ish.

The bearings are the same (in the front end), just make sure you check the hub itself for wear as when the bearings fail, they can sometimes damage the hub parts if the bearing has failed for a long time.

If you dont' mind me asking, how many axle splines are on your gtir axle shaft?

The outer splines that locate the shaft into the hub are the same as a regular B13/14 SE-R (sorry if you need a specific number, i just know they're the same.)

Why is it that the GTI-R hubs are unique to the R and the R alone if the axle splines are the same? The axle is 27mm right? sorry for the threadjacking.
