Thread: auto trans issue

my 95 g20t is having an issue with the automatic transmittion, when i put it in 1 or 2 first engages fine and it drives, same with reverse, now when i put it in D it revs up and doesnt go, when it does decide to move forward it shifts really hard and seems to still slip

fluid was just flushed but issue was occuring before this,

now i dont want to go and replace the tranny if its an outside component causing this,

if anyone has had this issue or something similar chime in and help me out please

My 91 pulsar had a similar problem twice with 2 different auto boxes. They would drive in 1 2 and reverse but if put in D it would take off in 1st and change into 2nd then would change into 3rd but wouldn't engage so it felt like N. On the 2nd box it would get hot and loose 1,2 and R then it would be fine when it cooled down. But then it went the same way as the 1st box so the car was converted to manual.
