As another option,Braille makes lightweight batteries, and even a carbon fiber one.
Summit or Jegs has them but I am sure they could be had cheaper.
I plan to try one in my track car eventually.

aaron what version of the shuriken battery do you have for sale I might be interested just pm me the info and price. I figured the 2 guage would be a little overkill I think the starter cable is 4 gauge and it works fine. I just got a decent price on the 2 gauge and figured what the heck but then again the 2 would also be bulkier and harder to hide.

I can sell you any of them. I work at at shop, and we're a dealer for both them and Kinetik. I can get the powermaster/xs stuff to, but it's higher.

It says on the Oddesy website or used to...that they can be drained down a good amount of times and Not be dead. The one I had in my NX had been drained 1000times. It still held a charge. I think the thing that killed mine is that it got jump started like 100 times trying to keep the motor lubed.

A 12V, 3 amp trickle charger can also be left connected to the battery if it is kept in storage for extended periods or if the battery is subject to parasitic loads during storage. The trickle charge voltage measured at the battery terminals must be between 13.5V and 13.8V.

I'd get a trickle charger and make sure it is kept fully charged.

Further, if you follow that link and go to General Provisions under the Warranty section, it clearly says they will not honor the Warranty if it is from "overcharging, undercharging...improper maintenance...the wrong trickle charger....." (For some reason I cannot cut-n-paste that section or I would).

I picked up a Diehard Battery Charger Maintainer #71219. It came with leads (Optional Permanent Connector Rings) that I attached to the battery (the clamp/clips suck) and then just plug in the charger, plug in the battery, and leave it overnight. It will fully charge the battery, and then keep it fully charged. I park the charger on top of the metal part just behind my air intake. Run the electrical cable up under the car and through the "hole" in the sheetmetal of the wheelwell that is located just behind the normal battery location. Two (2) connections later, I am done. Shut the hood, and walk away. "Green Light" in the morning.

I killed my first Odyssey due to the car being inactive (during my Restoration), and then using my car alarm. Dead as a rock. Could not be revived nor hold a charge at all.

Marcos at GoFastDepot fixed me up (thanks Marcos!), but I should have been using a trickle charger.

OK, that is a bad-ass battery charger.

IIRC, my Diehard was about $30.00 or so.

It's pretty nice, I must say. The recondition option is awesome. It does some sort of thing where it "shocks" the cells of the battery before it charges it. It's brought back alot of batteries that were though useless.
