I dont care, thread jacking is rare, imho. You would have to be talking about another car or another engine to be that far off to thread jack, imho.

in that new video it does sound like rod knock to me, little but still rod knock...

Ima throw something strange that happened to me like 4 days ago thats somewhat related...
Since Im running an open downpipe in my car I cant hear much apart from the loud exhaust while in the car, I open the hood in my garage to check something and WTF?! sounds like huge rodknock happening in there, I rev it a bit and it becomes louder... I go like... Then I go inside the car and press the cluth and the rod knock sound instantly goes away, so its obviously something related to the gearbox, I thought of throwout bearing... It turned out to be the gearbox with the oil level extremely low... you might check into that too...

Nope, I did not check gearbox oil either.

I dunno what noises the car makes. It runs healthy as can be, very strong and powerful for what it is. If it throws a piston through the block, then we will know.

Not recently, I will when I change my knock sensor hit a dyno. I want to go to Maple Grove again to see what I can do in a 1/4 mile track. I get phantom knock sometimes. It is weird and seems to be changing in different conditions. I just took a drive tonight in 60* weather and pushed the hell out of the car all around town and I did not experience any phantom knocking at all causing my timing to be retarded. Only my timing was never retarded once. Nothing. The SAFC II registered my highest knock sensor index at 54, but never pulled timing at all.

Earlier today, after I did all the work I did on the car today, I drove it off and it pulled the timing for a split second on me and the knock index was 81 on the SAFC II. It was 77* when I left outside.

It comes and goes, I think the sensor is just old and needs replaced. It is really difficult to change. I tried for a little bit and quit because I got frustrated and did not want to break anything.

No noises, just pulls the timing and the car bucks because of the timing being pulled under WOT.

What is the easiest way you do to change them? That v brace connecting to the intake manifold is a pain in the ass.

i took my brace off when the engine was out, not done any on sr20 yet, pretty much nobody has em out here and if they do they are ran down and dont wanna put money into em. ive seriously only had like 3 cars come into my shop with sr20s in the past 4 1/2 years, i mostly replace em on maximas and frontiers. but easiest way from visual memory of where it is is to get a friend with small arms and a ratcheting wrench just unplug it when u get it off dont bother trying to do it crammed up there. out of curiosity do you have a lightweight flywheel on your car, i cant remember

I do not have a lightweight flywheel on my car. I am in the process , right now, of purchasing a fidanza unit from a forum member. Why do you ask?
