Dead lifter maybe? sounds like its in the head.

I have a new tensioner coming next week so I will see if this changes the noise. It is def. not rod knock, something else.

That is crazy. My engine does not sound like that at all. That is crazy sounding.

like pure death eh? now imagine hearing the same sound 15 miles after a fresh rebuild.

What happened? Did you figure it out? Was it a timing chain issue or gear off by xx amount of teeth issue?

the first time stemmed from the valve cover in that video.
i was given an old VC from a friend so i could try shaving/painting it. worked great, but like a complete moron, i forgot to check the old pcv valve. of course it was stuck/clogged.
the oil found its way out around main seal (iirc). it was just enough to starve the head and spin some bearings.

Damn, that sucks that happened man. Crazy little mistakes kill us!
