Lifters and shims
If someone could please confirm some info I would appreciate it. Been doing alot of reading and just want to confirm some info before I move on and screw some things up.
I am putting my head back together on my highport. I ended up bleeding the lifters as my head was sitting for quite a while and they were very cushiony.
It is my understanding from the FSM that the lifters are not interchangeable in respect to their original position in the head. Should have labeled them when the motor was first pulled apart a while ago, I labeled everything else on motor. But did not moving on....
I know that some are taller and shorter in respect to the intake and ehxaust sides. Will I be ok if I measure them and situate them in the head just in respect to their size.
Taller ones=intake side
Shorter ones=exhaust
???
Also for the shims....
Will they be ok if they are put back in head making sure that they JUST situate on the rocker arms correctly
OR is their position ALSO specific to each valve spring that they sit on??
Thank you for any responses/help in advance,
-Tomas
