Horrible Idle (another thread for the archives...)
Situation. Cannot get the car to idle at all w/o holding the throttle down and keeping it at around 1500. Until the car warms up to about 180 degrees, the idle is horrible.
I have been dealing with the idle problem since i got the car back from the mechanic, but not at this level.
A few nights ago I parked in a seedy part of town. Lazy to lock it up I pulled the fuel pump fuse. 3 hours later I came back to start the car. I completely forgot I pulled the fuse. I thought because I was almost on E that I ran out of gas and the guage was misreading. I tried to start the car about 20 times, sometimes it would try to catch, others it wouldn't. At around 21, I realized I pulled the fuse.
Start it up, fill it up with gas and now the cold idle is like a seasaw.
I bought a cheap Professional Products Fuel Guage. Fuel pressure reads under 40psi. Revving it out the guage goes down. in ACC it does not hold pressure. What else can I check?
Trying to make sure all the sensors and wires are in tach for a new motor.
