The intake side rocker on cylinder number 3 has come loose. Its currently sitting pinned underneath that bridge that is above the valvetrain components. From what I can see the right side retainer has been gouged, as well as the right edge of the intake cam lobe. I'm guessing the contact surface of the rocker arm has also been gouged.
My two shims are sitting close by from the carnage. I don't think anything else in the top of the head has been damaged. I will have to take a look.
So a positive from my inspection today is that I won't have to remove the head from the block. Things could have been worse.
I'm thinking I will need a new intake cam, rocker arm, and valve retainer. Any problems in pulling these parts from a used motor? I'm not sure if its critical to keep a rocker arm matched up with a cam.
