lets say, b13, sr20ve, i/h/e n1's revving to 8k, which of the 6 listed would be the best bolt on with out modifying?

I opened up the gear box and counted the gears and this is what I got.

It seems to be a 95-97 SR18DE LSD gear box


1st 3.063 = 43 MPH ( same as SER )
2nd 1.826 = 72 MPH ( same as SER )
3rd 1.286 = 102 MPH ( same as SER )
4th 0.975 = 134 MPH ( same as SER )
5th 0.806 = 163 MPH ( shorter 5th gear than SERs 0.756 )

FD = 4.176 ( same as SER )

So how would the SR16 modified tranny be? I bought Joes SR16 with the G20t 5th gear?
How will this be with N1s revving to 8500?

x2 this seems lie a great setup.
Quicker ratios for1-4 and a taller 5th for the highway,right?

Thats the trans I recommended Hapynole to do and he did it.


You get quicker gears 1-4 and you end up with the a much close to 5th gears as a standard SR20DE trans because of the longer 5th gear from the G20T and the quicker final drive from the SR16VE gear box

SER has 5th gear = 0.756 and FD = 4.176 ( 173 )

G20T has 5th = 0.733 and and SR16VE has FD = 4.437 ( 168 MPH )


SR16VE has 5th gear = 0.756 and FD = 4.437 ( 163 MPH )
