Fuel pump problem?
What are the symptoms of a failing fuel pump?

no pressure, most of the time your car won't start, very rarely they will cause running concerns because they can't keep up enough flow/pressure at wide open throttle....

Can it start out as a very random and intermittent problem?

yes random & intermittent, could also cause your car to run lean if low fuel presure is present...

lean=detonation=R.I.P motor

OK because my car just randomly dies when i put the clutch in, other times it will just run roughly at less than 500 rpm. Also while at cruising speed it will sometimes feel like it hesitates, like slightly letting off the pedal an few times in a row for a little bit then go away. Any of these problems only happen about ~25% of the time but when it does its a real bitch in the city. I already replaced the MAF (it was used but i don't think it went bad this fast) and it seemed to fix it, only for about 2 weeks though. It came back yesterday...

back probe your MAF connector, & rev up your engine from idle up and see what the voltage values are...at least you can rule the MAF sensor out if working ok.

heres a video for reference.

If it is your fuel pump, you may actually be in luck. There was a recall on the b13 and u13 fuel pumps. I found this out through the parts guy at the dealership. He ran the VIN and turns out my car was one of the ones recalled. He said that because it is a recall, it is good for the life of the car and that they would replace it for free. Only one catch. Nissan had two different brands of pumps. The recall is only on one brand (can't remember which), so they may only replace it if it is that brand of pump. Just a pointer for you.

Well, a FAIL goes out to me. Sorry, I thought you had a b13. I hope your problem gets fixed!
