Engine may be dead!
Well I killed her. First off this is a 99 SE-L with a stock low port DE in her. Performance mods are: SSAC header the 2 incollector one. 2 1/4 mandrel bent exhaust. UR water pump and crank. Injen cold air intake converted at the time to short ram. Timeing set at 15 degress. JWT flywheel. NO CAMS just stock ones with stock valve train. B15 LSD tranny. CS front motor mount with prothanes for the rest. Last dyno 150 hp to the wheels and 138 ft lbs torque.

Now I recently noticed my passenger side shifter return spring has broken or come off. This causing the shifter to constantly pull more to the left. I noticed that it would like to pull the shifter from 2nd gear back to 1st but I just told myslelf to push right more firmly till I got around to fixing the spring.

So I was cruising at 60 MPH and decided to get up to speed. I shifted into third and floored it then into 4th and you guessed it at the end of forth rite back into 3rd. Burried the needle beyond redline. If the tack went on I would say 10,000 RPM + Call it what you will I %$c(ed up bad.

Car has no compression and wont move. Bairly starts. Sounds like a horrible subarue that is messed up.

Tommarow I am removing the valve cover. I think I sucked a valve. What do you guys think? Someone I know thinks my timing chain could have been loose and jumped a tooth? I dont know but I am going to keep you guys updated. If it is bad enough I am finally going VE. Infact I plan on calling Miko tomarrow.

Any thoughts guys. Blast away. Thanks.

I will say all of the above... It is possible that you jumped a tooth also. Our motors don't have a chain guard to prevent this. But all of the above is possible. Post some pics and we can tell you.

I did the same EXACT thing about 5 months ago. My foot slipped off the clutch after I made a shift from the top of third into second. It stayed at 10K or so for a good 2 seconds. I tossed every rocker are, which in turn chewed up my cams and cracked my valve cover. Don't turn the motor over any more. There is a GOOD possibility that there is no other damage. Typically, the rockers arms come out before the valve will float and hit the piston. I recommend finding the spare parts, putting it back together, and checking compression. Many people always mention the possibility of jumping a tooth, but that is really tough to do. It's hard to check as well. Get it back together with new rocker arms, lash pads, and cams. Check compression, and see how it runs. Then worry about further work if needed.

Miko is always on top of every situation.

About the subject like everybody else said it has to be a rockers. One of my friends did that on his GTIR motor while running on the 1/4 mile.
