By messed up, i mean there may be rubber bits in the shifter linkage that are worn or damaged.

I had a 5 speed transmission BMW, and the typical thing that would happen is that the motor/trans mounts would wear, then it would kill the linkage bushings.. so shifting would be vague. No gear selector popout, but sometimes you'd go into 1st instead of 3rd.... or 3rd instead of 5th.. lol

Actually theres this one that the bushing is pretty messed up on.... Its the one right by the crossmember but I'm not sure what it EXACTLY does... I think its like a stabilizer? i dunno but maybe thats it? I hope its cheap and common... I dont have internet right now so I cant really even look parts up... ugh...

Ok so reporting back... I changed the bushing and the shifter is finally stiff again but it still pops out of 5th... Actually, now it won't even go in... The thing I want to know is if it has low transmission fluid would this cause it to not be able to go into 5th gear?

Low transmission fluid would mess up all the gears. 1st-2nd would be the most problematic.

I think your b13 has a common 5th gear popout issue. Something to do with the internals of the transmission, i think it's a shift fork of some sort. It's possible that yours is on the way out. Go search for 5th gear popout on here.

^^Yeah, bummer man.You probably do have the dreaded 5th popout.
If you have fixed all the mounts and linkages, and have good fluid and level that would be my guess as well.
I would try to find one local off the forum if you can before you take your chances with a junkyard tranny if you can.

I know that the local junkyards don't have the sentra but will the g20 transmission line up just fine?

Good question. I know the axles are different. Many g20's also didn't have LSD transmissions, so you'd need to find a G20 that had an LSD differential, because the axle output shafts are gonna be different otherwise.

So I wanted to see exactly how low on oil the transmission was, I decided to not change it but to just add to it to see and

I put 3 quarts in and it STILL wasn't full!!!!!!!!! Maybe that's the reason my 5th gear went out

It still pops out if I put too much gas into it....

Yep, you've got 5th gear popout. Exact symptoms of the gear teeth being ground and not holding anymore. Reading your first post I had a strong feeling that was a real popout, and everything you've described has confirmed it. Your bad motor mount more than likely put bad stress on the shift linkage causing the excessive wear. That coupled with any type of trans oil problem will kill 5th gear in no time.

Lol that combined with shifting into 5th at about ~120 and getting a nasty grind for some weird ass reason... Think that's what killed it lol
