Collapsed Pressure Plate? Bad Fork or Arm? A NX2000 SR20 Tranny problem.
So the other day i went to pull my car out of Reverse and my clutch pedal stuck to the floor - I first thought it was my clutch cable - but it is clearly connected on both ends, but with SLACK. The tensioner is fine although. My mechanic told me he thinks its a bad arm\fork or collapsed pressure plate. I am not sure if this is the original clutch or not @ 149K miles. What do you guys think?

What happens when you start the car in gear? Does it stall immediately or jerk?

You could have over-sretched the cable but you may have not broken it anywhere. The cable is a cheap easy fix and it may be time to do it regardless if that is your problem or not. Good place to start though.

I suggest the cable as well. its the cheapest and easiest.

Like everyone else said try the cable, I had a cable that a couple strands broke at each end and pulled through, and I pulled on the cable and it didn't budge

If the cable is still attached to the arm and the arm is in good condition as in not cracked and broken, then i can bet you money your clutch fork snapped at the prongs attaching to the throwout bearing. Ive had it happen one time. Usually happens if your clutch arm is not well lubricated or the Throwout bearing not well lubricated causing binding.

Thats what happened with mine. My throwout bearing bound up and then the fork snapped. The throwout bearing had a nice split on the inside sleeve.

Pull the trans off and take a looks.

^Exactly what Ashton said.

The fork inside my trans recently snapped on me. Felt like the clutch cable but nope. I adjusted the cable thinking it was stretching then pop and the pedal would not come up. Dropped the trans and found one of the arms on the fork broke off.
