quick update: I finally got new keys made. i took off the hks turbo timer and there was no difference...I swapped another ecu and still the same things..i got my multimeter out and i check the coil connector voltage and im getting only 5.5-6 volts with the ignition towards ON.... my apexi afc is reading 12-12.2 volts from the battery....so there is gotta be a short somewhere.. im driving down to florida today ..so the car is gonna sit for the next few days..any other ideas...what about the black box under the steering column that reads "time control unit"

right on the money..the owner before me extended the two ground wires and one of them slipped out of the connector..

Glad to hear it's all sorted out for you. Those pesky grounds, they're a pain. At least we aren't working on BMWs or some Chevy's where they decide to ground everything through a single braided strap
