Yeah, the open tranny sucks. I wasn't too concerned about the headliner either. It's an easy fix. I was watching "Trucks" on Spike the other day and they showed how to re-cover one. Looked like the hardest part is just removing it.

Not even

Joannes fabrics, like most times, currently has a 50% off single cut fabrics coupon in their flyer at the front of the store. I just picked up 3 yards of microsuede for <$10. The headliner/carpet adhesive came from Advanced Auto for $13. Grand total of $23 and an expected ~1hour self labor (Not my first, nor my fifteenth rodeo with redoing headliners).

Got that right. Hardest part is getting the B pillars off.

Don't rush a headliner job though. Spray both the headliner and the back of the new fabric. Stretching it back and smoothing it over ~6" at a time.

Fifth Gear Popout Poll Results Table

Things got significantly better in 1995 but the problem was not completely fixed and certainly 1994 cars had the same failure rate as the earlier models.

Sorry Rittmiester, I'm with Ben on this one. Read/researched about it and even argued....uh...debated about it on the forums a bunch. I've got way too much personal experience with B13 trannies breaking. Two professional rebuilds (one under warranty) on my original tranny, then it broke again.

As Ben pointed out, in '94 or '95 Nissan put a band-aid on the damn compound fracture issue.

B15 LSD tranny from Greg V, Miko Tranny Saver bracket, G-spec Stage 3 Clutch Package, Redline MT90 (?) the light stuff, and Prothanes all around. Fixed.
