Be more specific. Is this the first time? If not, explain the scenarios it comes on.

The light comes on when there is low oil pressure
.
Check and make sure you tightened the oil plug and oil filter properly
.
Make sure you have enough oil in there
.
If you removed the lower oil pan recently and messed with anything in there the oil strainer could be loose and sucking air, or the strainer could be clogged
.
Other than that I don't know, I don't trust anyone to work on my engine but me now, that's how I found that out

hooked up an external oil guage and it reads 50 psi when i start... after the car warms up it goes to about 12.. drive and goes up.. never to 0... i tries two sensors and the lights still is on.. when i have the gauge hooked up there is no light... any ideas?

Wait, so only when you disconnect an aftermarket gauge the idiot light turns on?

When you leave the aftermarket gauge hooked up, the idiot light turns off?

Sounds like you should trust your aftermarket gauge and disconnect/take the light out of the stock idiot sender.

It won't work until it's too late, 99% of the time. 12psi at idle is a little on the low side for me, though.
