TOTAL REBUILD ya or na
Ok, probly get a biased answer on this one but some educated ones.
I posted a thread about a thermostat replacement. Well i decided to buy a 2002 sentra(motors dont seem to be as good as sr20). Should i keep my old 1994 xe, 400k engine runs good but leaks oil, needs a new rad/water pump. i know old sentra's are cheap for parts + I would have something to do with my dad, and maybe i could give the car away to my nephew in 9 years. His car would be the coolest!!!

what are your thought and tips?

I suggest 99-02 G20. The Sentra is nearly worthless so if you have a place to park it for you and pops to work on.... share a few beers and piece it together over time.

New car. You can always keep the old sentra for say and sr20 swap. Save up and swap

Lol... that car won't last another 9 years dude.
By that time, gas will be $10/gallon and we'll all have electric or hydrogen cars.

I don't know what to tell you about the 400k+ Sentra. It's glory days are over and your new Sentra is probably qucker. It will probably cost you more to rebuild the engine than it will be ultimately worth to you. A 1994 Sentra with 0k miles on it is still worth a thousand bucks tops.. and what's the engine rebuild kit? $1000+?

Craigslist that thing for a couple hundo and get rid of it.

If you and your dad have the time, money to do so. I would do that. I built my entire car with my dad either guiding me, or showing me what to do or showing me what I did wrong.
